MSoft requires the Nvidia control panel to be properly setup. If the settings are not configured properly, it can lead to side effectsin the software, including but not limited to crashing on start up.
To open and set up the Nvidia settings, please follow these steps.
For Msoft
1. Open the Nvidia control panel. The fastest way is right clicking on your PC’s desktop.
2. Select the option “Adjust image settings with preview”, then select the Advanced 3D Image settings. Click on apply.
3. Select “Manage 3D Settings” and select “High performance Nvidia processor”. Click on '"Apply".
4. Select ‘Program Settings’ and make sure you see MSoft in the list. If not, the software will need to be added manually, by clicking on on
“Add”. If MSoft is not in the list, the software will need to be added by using
the “Browse” option. The MSoft software can be found in the Program Files
folder of the C: drive by default.
5. Select PhysX Configuration. Select your NVIDIA graphic card and Apply the settings.
MSoft will now be configured in the Nvidia panel and work as normal.
For Scanner
software
The same exact steps will need to be repeated for scanner
software.
If using a BodyScan, this will need to be repeated for the
VXelements software.
If using an Einstar, this will need to be repeated for the EXStar
software.
If using an Einscan, this will need to be repeated for the EXScan software.
Alternate Method for Non-NVIDIA GPUs
As an alternate method to the NVIDIA control panel, if it
doesn’t work or for non-NVIDIA GPUs, an alternate method exists in Windows 10 onwards.
Under System – Display – Graphics, you can use the “Add
desktop app” option (in red). Doing this with MSoft or the scanning software
will add it to the list (in blue) and allow you to select which GPU to prioritize
with the additional settings that can be shown (clicking the arrow in green).
