Two-sided torso scanning

Two-sided torso scanning

The two-sided torso scan mode allows scanning of front then back of the torso in 3DSizeMe, which will then be merged in the MSoft software afterwards. To use this mode, physically identifiable must be used on both flanks of the scanned person. Location of markers does not matter but they should be asymmetrical to allow a reconstruction in MSoft

Any basic physical marker or labels find at an office supply store will suffice. These colors should contrast with the skin.

  1. Put two landmarks on each side, as shown in this video. As recommended, they should be asymmetrical.
  2. The patient must wear something that has a close fit or be scanned bared because of the landmarks. Whichever way is used, these must stay at the same location reference when switching to the other side for the scan.à
  3. In the 3DSizeMe settings, choose the “Per Vertex” option in the “Scan with color” menu.
  4. Scan the front or the back of the torso, make sure all four markers were detected and click done
  5. Repeat for the other side.
  6. The markers must now be identified within 3DSizeMe. After opening a side, select the pinpoint logo at the bottom-left corner. Put your finger on the landmarks on the pictures and hold for 2 seconds to identify them in the software. If needed, zoom by pinching the screen with 2 fingers. A colored dot will appear. Repeat for the other side.

Once satisfactory, send the file to your PC for processing through MSoft, which will handle the joining of the sides as well as the rest of the processing. If needed, refer to this section of the knowledge base on how to process scans in the software
