"Latest firmware needed" message appears when launching with ST02 | During initialization of the ST02, the "Latest firmware needed" message appears briefly even though no new version of the firmware is available. | Ignore the warning. |

Hard to perfom calibration | Calibration can be hard to complete even when indoor mode is activated. This is usually caused by the low luminosity of the scene. | Use the light gauge of the Calibrator app to determine if there is enough light. Move next to a window or use a halogen lamp if possible. (Calibration doesn't work well under fluorescent lighthing) Contact Structure Support directly. |
Hard to perform scan/depth coverage is bad | This can manifest itself as having a hard time starting the scan, having labourious tracking, and being overall hard to scan. | Use the exposure time slider in the scan hidden menu to find a suitable exposure time for the lighting conditions. Looking at a wall can help to find the value that fills out the depth frame. |
Initialization time is long | When initializing, it takes a while for the sensor to be ready to scan. This is present in both 3DsizeME and Calibrator apps. | Will be fixed in a future update. |
Sensor never exiting initialization | Sometimes, initialization never finishes, especially after unplugging and re-plugging the sensor when the app is running. | Unplug the sensor. Kill the app. Launch the app and start a scan. Plug in the sensor when prompted ("Please connect Structure Sensor") |
Back-to-back initialization (or more) | Sometimes, the initialization seems to restart over and over with alternating messages. | After two or three times, if it still not detecting, follow the procedure for "Sensor never exiting initialization" |
Sensor not detected | Sensor is not being detected and remains in "Please connect Structure Sensor" state. | Follow the procedure for "Sensor never exiting initialization" |
Crashes | Crashes can occur when the sensor is unplugged and replugged rapidly or if the sensor is unplugged while doing initialization. | Avoid unplugging the sensor during initalization. If you unplug the sensor, wait 4-5 seconds before plugging it back in. |
