Structure Sensor not initiating in 3DSizeMe

When using 3DSizeMe with a Structure Sensor, it is possible that an error occurs when trying to scan with the connected device.

The following steps will help pinpoint where the issue could be.
  1. Charging the Structure Sensor. Periodically, the sensor needs to be connected to a computer or wall outlet with a charging brick to charge. The device might not charge, or the charging cable could be defective.

  1. If possible, try with a spare connecting cable to see if it works, to confirm if it is a bad cable connecting the Structure Sensor to the Apple device.

  1. Connecting to a different or a spare Apple device. The issue might be with the current Apple device being used.*

  1. If you have a spare Structure Sensor but no spare Apple device, connecting the spare sensor to the Apple device to see if the issue persists.*

  1. Outdated iOS, App or Sensor firmware. If possible, please check if there is an iOS or 3DSizeMe app version update available. For firmware update instructions, please refer to this page.

  1. Cleaning the connectors on the sensor and the Apple device. Electronic device connectors can get dirty and can need cleaning.

  1. Confirming the device’s minimum requirements. Please refer to this page to ensure your device still meets requirements, assuming you own an older device you have been using for years. Support might be discontinued for that device’s specifications

  1. Confirm the device’s support. Device support is updated independently of minimum specifications – some devices might have the requirements but not be supported officially by 3DSizeMe, please refer to this page to confirm requirements

For steps marked with a *, for troubleshooting purposes it is fine if the sensor is not seated properly, since the spare Apple device (tablet or phone) might require a different bracket or cable length. The device can hang off and not be seated properly with a bracket as long as it can connect to confirm if a scan can be started in 3DSizeMe.
